When exactly your credit is spent

The balance does not move while you are choosing a photograph or writing a request. It moves at one point only: the moment you confirm a run whose cost has already been stated to you. This page describes that point, what the cost confirmation shows before generating starts, and why an impatient second tap cannot charge you twice.

The submit action waits until the price is known

The central rule of this app is that a run cannot be submitted while its price is unknown. The action that opens the review step stays inactive until two things have resolved: your credit balance, and the cost of the particular run you have set up. Only then does it become available.

This is why the button sometimes appears unresponsive for a moment after you finish writing a request. Nothing has failed. The interface is holding the door shut for exactly as long as it takes to establish what the run would cost you, because opening it earlier would allow a submission at an undisclosed price.

The practical consequence is worth stating plainly: there is no path through this app that spends credit on a run whose cost you were not shown first.

When credit is deducted, step by step

The same sequence applies to every tool in the app. Only one step in it changes the balance.

  1. You open a tool and choose a photograph

    The balance is untouched. Selecting a tool and uploading an image are preparation, and preparation is not billed.

  2. You describe what you want

    Writing or assembling the request still costs nothing. You can rewrite it as many times as you like before going any further.

  3. The review action becomes available

    It stays inactive until your balance and the cost of this run have resolved. An unpriced run cannot be submitted, so this wait is a condition of proceeding rather than a delay to work around.

  4. The confirmation appears and states the cost

    Your current balance, the cost of this run and the balance you would be left with are all displayed together, before anything is spent. This is the last step at which nothing has happened.

  5. You confirm, and the charge is committed

    Confirming is the moment the balance changes and the run begins. There is no earlier moment and no later one.

  6. A further tap does not add a run

    Once the first confirmation has been accepted, the submit guard makes an additional tap incapable of starting a second run, and therefore incapable of starting a second charge.

What the cost confirmation states before generating starts

The confirmation is not a general warning screen. It carries the specific figures for the run in front of you.

Your balance as it stands now
The figure is read at the moment the confirmation is prepared, not carried over from an earlier screen, which is part of why the action waits for the balance to resolve.
What this run costs
The cost belongs to the run you have actually configured, so it is established before the confirmation can be shown at all.
The balance you would be left with
The result of the subtraction is displayed alongside the other two, so the decision to proceed is made against the position after the run rather than the position before it.
Nothing has been spent at the point you read it
Closing or dismissing the confirmation leaves the balance exactly where it was. The charge is attached to your acceptance, not to the appearance of the screen.

Before you confirm a run

Everything on this list is free to change. Once the confirmation is accepted, changing any of it means confirming another run.

  • Check that the photograph on screen is the one you want the run performed on.
  • Read the request back and correct it while correcting it is still free.
  • Read every figure on the confirmation, not only the cost — the resulting balance is the one that tells you where you stand afterwards.
  • If the action is inactive, wait for it rather than tapping repeatedly; the wait is the price resolving.
  • If you change your mind at the confirmation, dismiss it. Dismissing spends nothing.

There is no option screen between the request and the confirmation

Nothing has to be configured between describing the run and reading its cost, which is why the sequence above is short.

The output resolution is fixed
A single output resolution is applied to every generated image, and there is no selector for it anywhere in the interface.
There is no background or aspect-ratio control either
Option lists for resolution, background and aspect ratio exist in the codebase but are not rendered, so they are not choices you can make and not choices you need to make.
The edit tool follows the same rule
Editing an image you already have is a separate run with its own confirmation, and it has no size, background or aspect-ratio control of its own; what its request contains is described on its own page.

What a committed run does and does not promise

A confirmed run sends a preservation instruction with it: the piece is to be reproduced rather than redesigned. That is an instruction, not a guarantee, and the distinction matters most for used and one-of-a-kind pieces, where the vintage-sellers page sets out what the instruction actually asks for and what remains outside its reach.

The same page describes the live report path for a returned image that is not the piece you photographed. This page does not extend that path into anything about your balance, because there is no source here for such a claim, and a claim about a product without the product is exactly what the editorial policy rules out.

What this page does not cover

  • No amounts appear anywhere on this page — not the cost of a run, not the size of a balance, and not the fixed output resolution as a figure. This page describes the mechanism and the moment, not the numbers.

When exactly is my credit spent?

At the moment you accept the confirmation. Opening a tool, uploading a photograph and writing the request all leave the balance untouched; the deduction is attached to your acceptance of a confirmation that has already stated what the run costs.

Am I charged when I open the tool or upload a photo?

No. Credit is deducted when a run is confirmed, and no step before that point changes the balance. You can prepare, rewrite and abandon a run without spending anything.

Can a double tap get me charged twice?
